We're hiring - Senior Social Media Specialist

You’re the Ying and the Yang. Superman and Clark Kent. On one hand, you’re the warm, mild-mannered and approachable face and voice of our client’s brands in social media. On the other hand, you’re a hard-nosed digital analyst who is constantly on the lookout of how to maximize return on effort and to boost social engagement with every post published. You are reporting to the Account Director. Tasks that we expect you to perform typically involve:
  • Working with the account and creative team, you will plan and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies. During this process, you’ll be using predictive modelling tools (e.g. google trends) and social tracking tools (e.g. Sprout Social, Meltwater) and be expected to take the lead in Content development planning
  • Planning and helping to create engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts - this involves working with copywriters, designers, photographers and videographers, writing briefing documents and providing feedback and guidance
  • If required, creating content yourself
  • Responding to comments and customer queries in a timely manner that reflects brand values
  • Publishing content on selected social and online platforms. Understanding these platforms, including analytic tools.
  • Plan and execute paid social campaigns
  • Organizing and participating in events to build community and boost brand awareness
  • Ensuring brand consistency in everything you do
  • Building relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals and influencers as well as media
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, introducing and suggesting opportunities to communicate better as they arise.
  • Constantly reading the community - what is working, what isn’t working, what gets reactions and feedback.
  • Analyzing data and preparing reports on metrics on an ongoing basis. Learning from these reports and sharing the findings with the team.
Those who succeed are...
  • Have a minimum of 1-3 years of agency experience
  • Able to understand both paid social and content planning
  • Have a strong understanding of the development and implementation of social media strategies and are fluent in the use of Facebook Ads Manager.
  • Imaginative and full of ideas.
  • Able to distinguish between a central, core idea and the executional possibilities it gives rise to.
  • Knowledgeable, with an eye for the best in contemporary art and design.
  • Aware of the latest production techniques, tools and materials.
  • Fascinated by people, advertising and brands.
  • Able to apply creative thinking to business problems.
  • Communicators who can ‘sell’ ideas in an inspirational way.
  • Team players, who can operate effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Tenacious and resilient throughout the frustrations of an iterative process.
  • Interested in food and the way it is shown and presented in popular culture.
  • Bonus points if you can use Photoshop to a good standard, and have some graphic design skills
